Overview

Now hiring a Lead Patient Care Assistant.


Supervise patient care assistants on shift and resolves any issues that arise in the moment. Ensure efficiency of the department on shift. Ensure shifts are adequately staffed. Document call-ins and tardiness in My Time: API. Report issues to the Transport Supervisor as necessary. Assist the Transport Supervisor with scheduling and onboarding as needed. Assist the Transport Supervisor in the management and maintenance of departmental equipment. Transport patients between clinical and non-clinical departments and nursing units. Transport patients needing admission, surgical and procedural services, inter-unit department transfers, or discharge from facility. Provide observation and companionship to appropriate hospitalized patient. Assist and provide basic ADLs as appropriate and directed. Provide general support for the operation of a nursing department including assuring availability of supplies and equipment as pertaining to transport.

Ideal Candidate

More than 1 year experience in hospital setting and patient transport experience.

Qualifications

HS/GED

More than 1 year experience in hospital setting and patient transport experience.

Current BLS required

Responsibilities
  • Supervises Patient Care Assistant (PCA) staff on shift.
  • Responsible for fielding calls regarding questions/concerns within the organization.
  • Uses critical thinking skills to resolve issues in the moment.
  • Responsible for the delivery and removal of inpatient hospital beds/stretchers to and from inpatient units.
  • Oversees maintenance of departmental equipment including electronic devices.
  • Ensures efficiency of Patient Care Assistants on shift.
  • Assist with scheduling and ensure adequate staffing for unit.
  • Function as an effective team member in a highly physical role.
  • Other duties as assigned.
