As a CT Technologist in the Radiology Department, you will perform computerized tomographic radiographs according to established practices and procedures. You will ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.

Qualifications
  • High school/trade or vocational school in cardiac ultrasound.
  • Certification/registration by CCI or ARDMS within 2 years of hire.
  • One to three years' experience in cardiac ultrasound
  • Must hold and maintain current New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program.
  • Sonography Professionals and MRI Professionals must be in possession of a New Mexico medical imaging license on or before June 30, 2019 Applicants are encouraged to apply for their New Mexico medical imaging or radiation therapy license as soon as possible, instead of waiting for the June 30, 2019 deadline.
Responsibilities
  • Schedules, performs and formats all types of CT scans
  • Verifies patient name and procedure to be performed before scanning and exam order by reviewing patient chart or verbal order with outpatient.
  • Educates patient prior to scanning procedure explaining the procedure and answering patient questions.
  • Provides written documentation of procedures performed and patient history pertaining to scan performed. Also does patient follow up by phone when required (e.g. biopsy patients, abscess drainage, etc.).
  • Attends section staff meetings, pertinent inservices, workshops and/or seminars for continuing education to enhance professional growth and development.
