Description

Los Alamos Medical Center is a community Hospital located in the beautiful mountain community of Los Alamos, NM, surrounded by the powerful Jemez Mountains. We are currently offering a $10,000.00 Sign-On bonus for a twenty-four (24) month commitment for this position. This position is located at the off-site Endoscopy Center Department.

This position provides direct assistance to the surgeon(s) during surgical procedures. Reports to the supervisor of the Endoscopy Center. Positions patient to give best exposure for procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety. Accurately maintains log books. Supports and assists physicians and registered nurses with procedure as directed. Verifies proper equipment functioning and performs safety checks. Assists with the collection of specimens collected ruing procedures. Places devices to monitor vital signs on patients, including blood pressure curff, surgical cautery pads, cardiac monitory electrodes, pulse oximeter sensors, and nasal cannulas. Validates and refreshes basic professional skills through active participation at in-service trainings. More duties as applies to GI Tech.

Qualifications

Requires:

Basic Life Support must be obtained within thirty (30) days from hire. New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certification. Notwithstanding this 'grace period' for obtaining American Heart Associate certification, employees are not excused from being current in any and all existing certification that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description.

License: certification for OR Tech preferred

Current, clean NM dirver's license if asked to drive for the department.
