POSITION SUMMARY: Directs and provides professional nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum, while complying with the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act.
The registered nurse in the Pre-Anesthesia Surgical Screening office is part of a team that works to complete a comprehensive assessment of the surgical patient's medical, surgical and anesthesia history, ensuring all medical issues have been addressed and/or optimized prior to scheduled surgery.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of an NLN accredited school of professional nursing
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
BLS Certification required or within 2 weeks of hire date. .
SKILLS:
EXPERIENCE: Previous pre-anesthesia assessment or surgical intake experience preferred.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: CSV Chief Nursing Officer, PASS Medical Director and Operations Manager of Anesthesia/PASS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting for long periods. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties are required. This includes basic computer skills, familiarity with computer charting, typing, and telephone communication skills.
